Director and Coach
Hi my name is Kav and together with my wife Zoe, started Little Big Sport in 2011.
Growing up with a passion for sports, which developed from a young age, I always saw my future as working within the sports industry.
Whilst in high school I was chosen to represent my country in Slalom and Giant Slalom snow ski racing (snow) and also coached children in this sport. After high school I Studied Sports Education at University and have gained a number of sports coaching certificates including my Football Fedration Australia football coaching certificates.
In 2005 I began coaching children as a full time job in a variety of sports in different countries including Austria, Japan, UAE and Australia.
I truly enjoying being around children, and seeing them having fun and developing an interest and passion for sports. My belief from the start was that if children enjoy what they do, they will inherently learn along the way, hence this being the foundation of Little Big Sport. I know how much enjoyment young children can get from physical activity, so through my exposure to sports together with the enjoyment I get from teaching others, it was natural for me to become involved in a career where I can coach soccer and teach children to enjoy physical activity.
I still enjoy coaching and try to get around to the venues as often as I can, in between working on the business behind the scenes. I coach throughout the week at some childcare centres, and can usually be found at the Robina venue on Saturdays.
I’m very proud of how far the business has come, with over 2000 children enjoying our program each week, across 3 states.
Manager and Coach
Kav and I started Little Big Sport in 2011 and I ended up joining the team full time in 2012. I have a teaching background – initally working as an ESL teacher for children both here and overseas, and then becoming a full time secondary teacher in Brisbane. I was working as a secondary teacher when we started Little Big Sport, with Kav commuting from Brisbane to the Gold Coast and doing most of the groundwork. However as the demand for more soccer venues and coaches grew, it was quickly apparent that I should be more involved in the business, so within 12 months of starting Little Big Sport I had resigned from teaching and Kav and I packed up our home and son, and moved down to the Gold Coast.
Now I work mostly behind the scenes, but still enjoy coaching when I can. I can usually be found at a few kindy’s throughout the week, and at one of our weekend venues. I find coaching extremely rewarding, as soccer is a sport that anyone of almost any age can pick up the basics of relatively quickly. It is great to see the little ones’ skills and enjoyment developing over weeks and months, and the positive feedback from the community has been overwhelming too!

My goal is to one day be a Physical Education and Health teacher at a reputable school.
Area Coordinator and Coach - Northern NSW
My name is Luke, I am 21 years old and I have been a coach a Little Big Sport since early 2016. I started playing soccer when I was 6 and I’m currently playing Premier League level at Burleigh Heads Soccer Club. I have been involved in coaching with Gold Coast Soccer since 2013 and gained coaching qualifications such as Grassroots and Skilled Training Certificates. Just recently I completed my Diploma of Sports Development in which I gained extra knowledge to improve my coaching abilities. The most rewarding part of being a coach is seeing the reaction and the excitement on the faces of the children when I arrive and watching them all grow, develop and improve their skills from each session.
Hi my name is Taelin. Soccer has always been a part of me because I love being active and working together as a team. Playing sport is the best and most enjoyable way to stay healthy and fit plus it introduces you to new friendships. I have been studying Bachelor of Business at Southern Cross University for two years and I have decided to major in Finance. I have found coaching to be very fun, enjoyable and very rewarding. Through my first year of coaching I have gained experience and knowledge on coaching kids and have found out the best way for them to learn new skills and have fun at the same time. Watching the kids develop their skills and have a fun time playing soccer makes my job really enjoyable and a great experience.
Hi my name is Alex and I have enjoyed playing and watching sport, especially football (soccer), since I was a young boy. Being born and growing up in Manchester England I was surrounded by the game and that is where I grew my great passion for it. I have coached young football teams at some of the clubs around the Gold Coast, as well as having played for their senior teams in recent years. I hold a certificate 3 in fitness which includes a first aid certificate.
I thoroughly enjoy my coaching role with Little Big Sport and love helping the children enjoy the game and watching their abilities improve week in week out.
Hi my name is Lance. I have always loved sport and being active. Playing Sport is a healthy way to stay fit and learn many skills, principles and form friendships. I have been a coach for years now and have studied Health and Physical Education at Griffith University for two years and have my Football Federation Australia coaching qualifications. Through my studies I’ve gained knowledge and experience on how to coach kids, ensuring they have fun always, while developing their motor skills for soccer and form positive attitudes towards sport. Seeing the kids really enjoy sport and having fun, makes coaching a privilege and a fun experience.
Hi my name is Connor, I’m originally from the Coffs Coast and have lived on the Gold Coast for 3 years already while studying at Griffith University. I am studying a bachelor of Sport Development whilst currently holding a certificate 3 and 4 in Fitness, an FFA C coaching licence and multiple football coaching certificates. I have played football since I was 4 years old and still currently play. I have also participated in many other sports while growing up, including athletics, rugby and basketball. I have previously worked with two different organisations in a position of children’s sports coach. I have also coached club football for several seasons as well as currently. I enjoy coaching because I love to help kids develop their abilities and love for sport. It is a great way to socialise, stay healthy and have fun from a young age all the way through life.

Hi my name is Cherhys and I’ve been working in administration with Little Big Sport for 2 years now.
During this time I have seen first hand the impact the Little Big Sport programs have on all the children and their very proud parents.
I am lucky enough to experience having my little family participate in the program as well, seeing the joy and excitement on their faces and the vast skills improvement over time has been extraordinary.
Hi my name is Rosie, I have worked Admin for Little Big Sport since the start of 2017. Ever since I was young I’ve had a love for all sports. When you’re a kid I believe it’s important to mix sports and fun together. My little brother was a little big sport kid; he gained so much passion and love for soccer from the program and now plays for a club.
